The City of Eagle was incorporated on November 2, 1971. 
Eagle got it's name by the first settlers spotting an Eagles nest at the top of a large
cotton tree near the Boise River.  


Eagle is a very nice community that is located about 10 miles west of downtown Boise.

It is boarded by Boise on the East, Meridian on the south and Caldwell on the east.

The median income in Eagle is around $67,217.

 

Real Estate in Eagle is growing.  The population has grown from 2,500 in 1990 to 14,000 in 2003.  Average price of homes in Eagle is $276,960.  You can find any size of lot in Eagle, from a standard lot to 5 acres and anything in between.  It is a very distinctive community with very well planned subdivisions.

 

Businesses in Eagle are growing too.  Eagle now has a  Home Depot  as a Hilton Garden Inn on the Boise River and Winco Grocery store.   Eagle also has an Albertsons and many other restaurants and gas stations to choose from.  Target is only a few minutes away from downtown Eagle.

 

 

Schools in Eagle are in the Meridian School District.

Arbordetum Park

This has many plants, shrubs and trees to enjoy as well as a picnic space.

 

Friendship park

Corner of Ranch Drive and Stierman Way

This park has a lighted tennis court with picnic facilities and  playground equipment for older children.

 

Orval Krassen Park

Stierman Way

This is a family park, the play equipment is geared toward younger children.  There are picnic facilities available for your enjoyment.

 

  

Heritage Park and Gazebo

185 E. State Street

This park offers a ground level water feature for kids.

 

Reid W. Merrill Sr. Community Park

637 E. Shore Drive (located in the Eagle River Development)

This park has a childrens play area, interactive wetland. The gazebo and picnic area can be reserved.  If you like to play volleyball or basketball, this park has that too.

 

Skateboard Park

Horseshoe Bend Road (Old Hwy 55)

This park is the first phase of an 85 acre park. The skateboard park has 12,500 square feet of fun.

 

Eagle Island State Park

545 acres with swimming, trails, picnic areas, 5 miles of equestrian trails
