If you need to get out of the City try taking one of these road trips.  Your trip can last as long as you want,  just a day, or as long as a weekend.  Please let me know if there are other short trips that you have been on that you would like me to post here.


McCall Idaho,is a great place to go if you need to get out of the city for the weekend or just the day.  The trip is only 108 miles one way.  Once you get to McCall there are several hotels to choose from or camping grounds. Ponderosa State Park is a pretty drive, or you can also ride your bike around the peninsula. Camping is available inside the park, make sure that you get a reservation, because during the summer camping sites don't last long.

Stanley Idaho is another pretty trip.  Round trip from Boise is 260 miles.  Stanley has everything the outdoor enthusiast could hope for.  Camping, hiking, fishing, biking, water skiing, rafting, kayaking, hores back riding, and miles and miles of ATV trials. Back up your tent, hook up your trailer, or book a lodge and come see some of the most beautiful country in the world.

Idaho City is just a short 79 miles round trip up HWY 21. Idaho City is an old mining town from 1862. by 1865 the town had turned to dust. When you go to Idaho City you will find yourself walking on the old boardwalks.
Idaho City is in the middle of the Boise National Forest, with plenty to do in all seasons.  Wether you like fishing, hunting, or just walking around town. It is a city that can't be missed.

Sun Valley Idaho is a fun weekend trip. Round trip is about 300 miles.  Ketchum is the hub of the Sun Valley, Hailey area.  There are plenty of accomodations to choose from.  Sun Valley is known as the home to many movie stars. With wonderful snow skiing, river rafting, hunting, horseback riding, Golf, and 30 miles of paved bike trails.  Just to name a few activities you can indulge in when you visit the area.

Tamarack resort is the first ski, golf and water resort that has
been permitted in the United States in 20 years.
It is located about 79 miles north of Boise. The ski mountian 
opened in December 2005.  Lake Cascade is great for fishing
and water skiing. And the 18 hole golf course opened to the
public in the spring of 2006.
But until Tamarack is up an running 100%.
Cascade offers 800
miles of groomed snowmobile trails, golfing, swimming, rafting and
all the other recreational activities that can be done outside.
